Hello Ian, Thank you, and thanks to Rod, for testing out other configurations. I am now (trying) to upgrade our version of gcc to 2.8.1. Unfortunately, the build is failing, and I've sent a bug report to gcc-bugs. Some days, I guess it doesn't pay to be a stickler for details. ^_^;;;;; Once I finally get 2.8.1 built and installed, and I test it on this program, I will let you all know the results! Thanks! Cc: ups-users_at_ukc.ac.uk Hello Bob, I have tried the executable you sent me and get the problem. I have also now tried with gcc 2.7.2.1 (and 2.7.2) on Solaris 2.5.1, and, from the mailing list, Rod Armstrong has tried gcc 2.8 and 2.8.1 and none of them have the problem, so it is looking like a gcc glitch. Perhaps you should try 2.7.2.1 or 2.8.1 - Sun-style packages are available from http://sunfreeware.com Regards, Ian. ----------End Included Message----------
