In early August I polled this group for feedback on some defaults provided in UPS. I asked if it would be better on a little endian machine to group the display in a memory dump as longs rather than bytes, whether the Raise on Break/Lower on Run feature is the best default, and whether the delay before lowering the main window should be shortened. James Armstrong did some investigation and reported that a byte grouping seems to be most common. So there will be no change in this feature. Concerning raise on break, the votes were: No raise on break 5 Raise on break but no lower on run 2 Raise on break and lower on run 2 The winner is no raise on break, this feature will be turned off by default on the next release. The replies suggested that many users had not discovered how to control this feature. The online help for the next UPS release will have a section on "Preferences" that will highlight some of the ways that UPS can be configured. Nobody expressed an opinion on the delay time. Thanks to all who responded. Russ Browne Applied MicroSystems Corp.
