Trace of the C functions

I'm using ups debugger to maintain a legacy system having C functions.
As there is not much documentation, I find it difficult to trace the
flow of control. Is there a way of logging in a file the names of the C
functions as they are invoked at run time ?  If there is one, does it
give the time stamps also ?
