Hello, I am trying to debug a program, with ups, on Mandrake 9.0 with gcc 3.2 and I am getting the following error: Can't debug rat: it is not an ELF file I am aware of the STABS/DWARF problem with the gcc >3.1 compiler but I am not sure whether this has to do anything with it. I use bot the ups 3.37 and the 3.38beta1 versions. An older email found in this list says: >>I'm fooling around with KDevelop 1.4. I generated a small test program and >>tried to debug it with ups. I got the following error: >>Can't debug simple: it is not an ELF file. >>But Linux executes it perfectly. Gdb doesn't work either, leading me to >>believe it's a problem for both debuggers. >>Configuration: Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.4.4, ups 3.37beta2, gcc 2.95.2 >>ups 3.36 displayed the same behaviour. Note: I generated debugging >> >>symbols; the built-in KDevelop debugger seems to work. Could anyone help me? Please send replies to cambiotis_at_hotmail.com. Thank you for your time and help.
